TEACHING

Available for: Internship | Voluntary work There is always a shortage of teachers. Volunteers are desperately needed to help poorer schools meet the needs of the students. Volunteers usually start by shadowing as a teacher aide, but after a couple weeks take over their own classroom. All educational backgrounds are welcome! Most volunteers teach: English, math, science subjects, social studies, music and art. etc.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Our volunteers will get opportunity to work with kids at their early ages and help them reach their dreams. GTL programs in has a nursery school and day care center that teaches preschool subjects like simple arithmetic, phonics, and language skills. GTL Programs provide opportunities to the needy children to get quality education.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Primary school curriculum is friendly and all-encompassing. Most teachers are open to different methods of teaching under guidance of the curriculum. You will work with students in grades 1-7. The school offers book clubs, storytelling and art classes to the younger children. You are free to take the initiative in finding simple arts and crafts projects.

SECONDARY EDUCATION

You will work with students from form I to IV (O'level) and from V-VI (A'level) Some of the school have only O'level classes while others have both O'level & A'level classes. English is the medium of instruction. GTL is working with all categories: government owned schools, private schools and international schools.

HEALTH PROJECT

Hospitals and health care can be really different from what you experienced in your home country. It can be really interesting to experience the clinical routine in Tanzania and experience new challenges career wise, while also giving back to the community in a much appreciated way. You will have an opportunity to exchange knowledge and cross-cultural learning with local healthcare professionals, as well as other international medical volunteers.

We let you select a medical volunteer project that aligns with your area of medical expertise. We work with small clinics and big hospitals, which include different departments and includes in-patient facilities. The program is open to volunteers and interns with a medical background, such as nurses, doctors, physiotherapists,etc. The departments are: Child Welfare, Maternity, physiotherapy, dentistry, paramedics, clinical laboratory science, emergency medicine (EMTs), speech therapy, optometry, nutrition, public health, orthopedics, radiology, HIV/AIDS support, midwifery, pediatrics, Outpatient Unit, Observation Unit and Pharmacy.

When it comes to getting a meaningful and memorable medical work experience outside your country, the mentorship and structure of the program really matter. Our Healthcare Internship programs are customized to suit your objectives and interest areas as well as your university requirements providing you with hands-on experience and clinical exposure under supervision and mentorship. The Programs are suited for all levels of experience and qualifications whether you are a Pre-Health Student, Healthcare Student, a New Doctor or a practicing professional. They will expose you to a health system that is different from that of your home country.

CONSTRUCTION

We have a set of construction projects and we will let you choose whichever you would like to get involved.

We have our own projects which are constructed by volunteers up to its completion. In some construction projects we have partnered with local institutions.

Join the Construction Volunteer Programs and help in water storage facilities for public schools and underserved society, construction of walls, rebuilding houses, renovating schools, etc., GTL construction project let Building volunteers venture out into villages and help construct toilets from scratch, dig holes for sanitation structures.

These construction project will provide communities with improved access to public health, education, nutrition, sanitation and other important development initiatives. SPORTS

Our sport volunteer programs offer you the ideal opportunity to teach youth and teens the importance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle, while building skills in teamwork and sportsmanship.

Sharing your love of sport with children from underserved communities. Sports education has a proven positive impact on children’s well-being, both mentally and physically. See this impact first hand while being welcomed into communities and cultures across Tanzania.

ENVIRONMENT

GTL understands that climate change is negatively affecting the planet; this project strives to stop environmental destruction and raise conservation awareness in these regions.

Environment project activities ranges from reforestation assistance programs to climate change projects, information on endangered species, tree planting, learning about sustainable farming.

SOCIAL WORK

We carefully identifies homeless individuals and help them find low cost housing, advocate for community outreach. If you’re thinking about which impact you wish to make, Grand Tanzanian Love is the perfect option for you.

Also we have social work programs which aim to improve the well-being of children and their families. Social work volunteers help with arranging adoptions and finding homes for abandoned or abused children.

Grand Tanzanian Love also send social work volunteers to schools especially public schools, where they support students by addressing truancy, behavioral problems, teenage pregnancy and other issues.
